Pleasant View is owned and operated by Shiawassee County as a service to its residents. The board of directors is the Shiawassee Department of Health and Human Services Board, whose members are appointed to serve a three-year term. The Shiawassee County Commissioners appoint two members and the governor of Michigan appoints the third member. It is a policymaking board only. The board meets once a month at Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility located at 275 Caledonia Dr, Owosso, Michigan 48867 on the third Friday of each month at 10:00 am unless otherwise noted in future meeting posting changes. The current county appointees are Londa Knauff and Cindy Civille.

Londa Knauff — Chair

Mrs. Knauff is a current volunteer at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County and spent more than 20 years serving on the Community Mental Health Board as board and chair. After graduating from Corunna High School, she attended Baker College and worked at Memorial Healthcare. Mrs. Knauff also sold real estate for both Moiles Real Estate and Century 21. She was very active in youth programs while raising her children, and her passion continues to be services for children and the elderly.

Cindy Civille— Co-Chair

Currently holds the position of Teacher Preparation Program Director at Baker College. Civille served as a Classroom teacher for 11 years, Public School administrator for five years, County Intermediate School District Administrator for15 years, and Final assignment: Assistant Superintendent for Special Education Shiawassee County Regional Education Service District, Corunna, Michigan.

Greg Bontrager

Mr. Bontrager was raised in Owosso and became the president and chief operating officer of the American Cancer Society worldwide. With its global headquarters in Atlanta, the American Cancer Society is the world’s largest nonprofit voluntary health organization with nearly $1 billion in annual revenue, 3 million volunteers, 6,000 employees, and a presence in many countries worldwide.

Mr. Bontrager was a primary architect of a nonprofit’s largest organizational transformation/merger in U.S. history. Now retired from the American Cancer Society, he remains active as a consultant, an executive coach and currently serves on several boards, including the Shiawassee County Health & Human Services Board, since 2018.
