Shana Espinoza, MSN, RN, LNHA, Administrator
Shana currently serves as the Administrator of Pleasant View, Shiawassee County’s Medical Care Facility. A Masters-prepared registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Saginaw Valley State University, Espinoza began her nursing career at Pleasant View in 2009. In 2012 she became Director of Nursing. In 2016 she earned her Nursing Home Administrator license before becoming Administrator in early 2017. She oversees a staff of more than 250. Espinoza is currently leading the new state of the art facility for Pleasant View, which opened in January 2018. It is the largest new construction project in Shiawassee County in more than 30 years. Additionally, she is a member of the Owosso Rotary Club, serves on Memorial Healthcare’s Board of Trustees, and assist as the MCMCFC District 4 Director.
Theresa Delau, RN, BSN, CDP, Director of Nursing
Theresa currently serves as the Director of Nursing of Pleasant View, Shiawassee County’s Medical Care Facility. A Bachelor’s prepared nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan-Flint and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Baker College, DeLau started working at Pleasant View in 2011. In 2013, she was promoted to Quality Nurse where DeLau continued Pleasant View’s dedicated efforts to achieving improvement in the Quality Rating System under the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing in 2016 and then to director in 2017. DeLau is a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner as recognized through the National Council of Certified Dementia Care Practitioners. DeLau also serves as the Quality Assessment and Assurance Chairperson for Pleasant View.
Dr. Edward Christy, MD
Dr. Edward Christy MD currently serves as the Medical Director at Pleasant View and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Memorial Healthcare, Genesys Regional Medical Center and Hurley Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Christy specializes in Internal Medicine and also serves as the Attending Physician.
Hollie Dowen, RN, Nurse Admissions Liaison/Medical Records
Hollie graduated from Baker College in 2013 with an Associates in Nursing. Dowen employed with Pleasant View, Shiawassee County’s Medical Care Facility in 2014 and worked as a Registered Nurse. Promoted to her current position, Admission Liaison in 2017. Dowen has been in Long-Term Care for more than 5 years. Dowen was born in Owosso, Michigan, where she was raised by per parents and 9 siblings and now lives with her husband Jakob and her two children, Leilene and Brody.
Jennifer Zamora, Food Services Director
Jennifer currently serves as the Food Service Director at Pleasant View. Zamora has worked in healthcare for 37 years, getting her start with OMH in the late 70’s as a CENA before starting work at Pleasant View in the early 80’s. Zamora, started her career as a CENA at Pleasant View, and later became a Baker, Cook and then Dietary Clerk. After receiving her CDM credentials for dietary management, Zamora moved into management and focused on her career at Pleasant View, Shiawassee County’s Medical Care Facility. Zamora and her husband have four children and two grandchildren that they both love to visit. Zamora, love spending time listening to our residents stories of years past as this brings memories of her own grandparents and the stories they shared with her and her siblings. She also love spending time with her family, doing outdoor activities such as gardening, biking, walking, and hiking.
Sandy Lamb, HR Manager
Sandy Lamb Currently serves as Director of the Human Resource Department of Pleasant View, Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. Lamb graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and began working at Pleasant View in 2014, bringing more than 22 years of experience. Lamb enjoys football, boating, camping with her family. Lamb is married with seven children and one grandchild.
Jeffery Smithingell, Plant Operations Director
Jeff Smithingell has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, an Associate degree in Business, and a certificate in HVAC/R. In 2010, Smithingell began his role as the Plant Operations Supervisor. Smithingell has been with Pleasant View over 30 years, working in many capacities including laundry, housekeeping, activities, dietary, and maintenance. Smithingell currently oversees laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance departments and directs transportation and emergency planning details.
Amy Conklin, Life Enrichment Coordinator
Amy Conklin graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Services in 1999. She started working as a Certified Nurse Assistant on weekends and during the summer months while in college. This is where she discovered her passion for working with the elderly. After graduation, Amy started working at a Long-term Care Facility as an Activity Assistant and while there accepted a position as the Life Enrichment Director. Amy came to Pleasant View in 2016 with 18 years of Long Term Care experience and currently serves as the Life Enrichment Director. Conklin lives in Corunna, Michigan with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and traveling to the Upper Peninsula.
Rachel P. Baldwin, Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator
Rachel P. Baldwin graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018 with an Associate degree in Marketing and has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. Baldwin currently serves as the Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for Pleasant View, Shiawassee County’s Medical Care Facility. Baldwin began working with Pleasant View in 2015. Baldwin lives in Flushing, Michigan with her husband, Jason and enjoys gardening, interior design and spending time with her family.
